Biography

Emma Stranack is Head of Business & Consumer Communications at the Financial Conduct Authority.  She oversees marketing and behaviour change campaigns, branding, design and production, digital strategy and social media, stakeholder engagement and events.

Emma is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Fellow of the Financial Services Forum and Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

A qualified barrister, Emma has 25 years’ experience in marketing in both the public and private sector, where she worked agency-side.  At the FCA she has initiated campaigns including Do it now! supporting the PPI complaints deadline, ScamSmart, tackling scams and fraud and Credit Ready, a B2B initiative.  Prior to the FCA, Emma was a Senior Civil Servant in Whitehall and chaired the cross-government Heads of Marketing forum.  At the Home Office she worked on crime reduction, policing, counter-terrorism and immigration and the Department for Transport on award-winning THINK! Road safety campaigns (drink and drug driving, child education and cycle safety) and Act on CO2 (climate change).  Emma is also a presiding magistrate in the adult criminal court for the Central London Justice Area and a trustee for a London homelessness charity.
