VanderMolen is a public relations leader and accomplished executive.
He serves as President, International and WE+, for global communications agency, WE Communications.
In his current role he is responsible for the intellectual capital (Brands in Motion), global expansion and
fortifying WE’s partner network. In under a year Alan has secured speaking slots at Cannes Lions Young
Marketers, Global Summit in Miami, Indie Summit in London and Praxis in India.
Before joining WE, Alan most recently served as Vice Chairman for DJE Holdings, Edelman’s parent. VanderMolen was responsible for leadership of five businesses: Research firm, Edelman Berland; Edelman sister agency, Zeno; Edelman Digital; and, Edelman Canada and Latin America. VanderMolen served nine years as Edelman Asia-Pacific President, taking it from the region’s number 7
firm to a top 3 firm and recognition as PRWeek’s Network of the Year. Alan drove Edelman entries into India, Japan and Indonesia, as well as Australia expansion.
Before Edelman, Alan spent 13 years at Burson-Marsteller. After three years in New York, Alan ran
Burson in Taiwan and Malaysia before running the firms Southeast Asia operations. Alan has appeared on CNN, Bloomberg, CNBC, the BBC and in countless print media. He has spoken on roundtables at the UN Global Compact Leaders Conference, the Clinton Global Initiative and The World Economic Forum’s Anti-Corruption Conference. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Alan serves on its Board of Trustees. He has served on the boards of the Goodman Theater, the Planet Water Foundation and the Plank Center.
