Dylan Sharpe is the Head of PR and Deputy Leader Writer for The Sun newspaper. He started his career in comms at Geronimo Communications (now Kindred PR) before joining iNHouse PR and working as a press officer on Boris Johnson’s 2008 London Mayoral Campaign. He then teamed up with Matthew Elliott, founder of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, to establish civil liberties campaign Big Brother Watch, becoming its first Campaign Director. In 2010 Dylan was appointed Head of Press for the No campaign in the 2011 Alternative Vote referendum. He went back into corporate comms as a Consultant at Pagefield, where he met Stig Abell, who later became Managing Editor ofThe Sun (now Editor of the Times Literary Supplement) and hired Dylan at The Sun to run its PR. Dylan joined the newspaper’s leader writing team in January 2016 and now regularly writes the iconic ‘Sun Says’ editorial columns. He was named as one of PR Week’s ‘29 under 29’ in 2011 and awarded ‘Rising Star’ in 2012 by US magazine Campaigns and Elections.
